Pastor Mike Metzler was installed as pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hinckley, MN on June 24, 2018. This is the first congregation he has served as pastor.
Pastor Metzler and his wife, Sherri, have been married 17 years and are life-long residents of the upper mid-west (WI and MN). He and Sherri have a son, Ben, and a daughter, Jessica, plus a granddaughter, Brooklyn, and a grandson, Malik.
He was born in St. Cloud and lived in Sauk Rapids until 1979 and then to Prescott, WI where he attended senior high school. He graduated from Winona State University, Winona, MN in 1991 and Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO in 2018.
He has worked as a carpenter (journey-worker carpenter by the State of MN in 2007), in an aluminum die-cast foundry, as a law enforcement officer, and as a security officer in hospital settings. He was also co-owner of a small construction business.
He enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping, in which he has a great appreciation and awe of God’s magnificent creation. Working with his hands, something the Bible often talks about, he enjoys wood working and wood carving as well as reading. He and Sherri enjoy spending time with each other and their children and grandchildren.
